Vacuum Pump Systems
Vacuum pump system describes the required use of a vacuum pump and additional components
in their construction necessary to achieve a desired outcome. When the end user
is a printed circuit board manufacturer, (s)he may require a base to secure the
pump as in the Onyxx STND System.
This arrangement allows the pump to bolt on to a sturdy base stand rather than rest
on the production or shop floor, enabling ease of maintenance, proper ventilation,
and equipment protection. So, general overall plant safety and equipment reliability
are increased.
This same printed circuit board manufacturer may desire complete automated control
as in the Onyxx VTM System. This arrangement
allows for complete automatic on/off operation of the vacuum pump dictated by a
completely adjustable pressure switch. The vacuum pump is mounted on a sturdy ASME
coded vertical tank which adds storage space, increasing the off time of the pump,
saving both energy and mechanical wear and tear on the system.
Customers that require 100% pump redundancy in their vacuum process may choose the
Onyxx HTMD-2 horizontal tank mounted duplex system. This arrangement also achieves
complete automated operation of the vacuum pump with an additional pump acting as
100% backup in case of catastrophic failure to one pump. In this case the vacuum
process in the plant can continue without operational loss of any associated manufacturing
or production dollars while the failed pump is repaired. In the meat packaging industry
the requirement may be to increase production of vacuum packaged products to market
and so additional vacuum capacity is required. The most efficient pump arrangement
in this example may be the Onyxx VR-775-BLWR
system where a booster blower is fitted to an existing vacuum pump. In this case
the standard pump capacity is boosted up to 2 times it’s original design point in
the deeper vacuum regions with total installed horsepower increasing only by 1/5th
(or 20%).
